L´Antico Casale & La Torre del Castello

The Antico Casale and La Torre del Castello stretch out around the medieval village of Monteleone, a Mountain Community in the Cesena Appenines for 147 hectares, at 360 metres above sea level.
Sleeps 6 + 2 people
The ANTICO CASALE in Monteleone, is right outside the arch of the entrance to the village and goes back to the end of the 18th century. The stone house was restored with artistry and careful attention to details in 2002. It is made on 2 levels: the ground floor has a large warm living-room with a period terracotta heater. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with dining area. This floor opens out onto the rear of the house, a lovely garden with neccessary equippment to dine out facing the open fields and the Appennine slopes.

There is also a pretty bedroom standing on the ground floor too, with a beamed ceiling, plus a spotless bathroom.
Upstairs there are two further bedrooms which can sleep six people, as each contains a double bed and a single, plus a washbasin.
The rooms are linked by the cosy bathroom, complete with tub. A large and functional laundry containing independent central heating boiler also looks onto the garden. This charming country house is the ideal place for the vacation of an entire family or for a small group of friends, for people with an eye for quality and detail.
The Torre del Castello is estimated a mid 13th century and it is situated immediately outside the main entrance of the Monteleone Castle. This charming apartment of 50 sqm. is looking onto the tiny square of Monteleone which is dedicated to the English Lord and poet George Byron.
The apartment has a bright sitting room with a sofa, two easy chairs, a dining table and a fireplace. The place is graced with antiques, paintings and fine furniture.
There is a spacious double bedroom with 2 twin beds and a window giving natural day-light. The apartment has a kitchenette fully equipped with all necessary cooking supplies.
The bathroom has a shower and it is tiled with sparkle white ceramics.
On clear days the panorama at 360°, ranges from the Tosco-Romagnolo Appennines to the Marches Region and from the Repubblic of San Marino to the Adriatic Coast. It is the ideal departure point for excursions to nearby art-cities and villages of remarkable historic and artistic interest, and for the young desirous of taking part in the lively night life offered by the Riviera.
Guided tours are arranged to the Monteleone Castle as well as concerts in the roof garden. The estate is crossed by the ‘Sentieristica degli Otto Castelli’ (Eight Castles Track) which is clearly indicated on and described in the maps specially prepared by the local town council of Roncofreddo for trekking and mountain bike lovers.
Protected species like the fox, the hedgehog and the roe-buck as well as numerous wild boars live and breed in the woods on the estate. You can also go fishing in one of the ponds on the estate. For golf lovers these are the nearest golf courses at Forlì, at the“Fiordalisi” Golf Club.
Special activities and events can be arranged, like gastronomic tours, visits to vineyards, olive groves of local producers, courses of local cuisine, flower arrangement courses using berries, bushes and flowers, picked in the woods of the Monteleone Castle.
The farm has adopted methods of cultivation of low environmental impact for the olive groves, the fruit orchards, the vineyards and the wheat.
In collaboration with the group “il Telaio”, weaving courses using a hand-loom, as well as chair-mending using basket-weaving techniques.
