[ MA ] Via Margutta

It is in the heart of the historical centre, on a street opening up to the Spanish Steps and just a few minutes walk to Piazza del Popolo, Fontana de Trevi and The Pantheon. The uniqueness of this apartment lies precisely in the exquisite location, hunted by visitors and proudly protected by Romans.
Via Margutta is a small street in the center of Rome, near to Piazza del Popolo, accesible as a small alley from Via del Babbuino, in the old quarter of Campo Marzio, also known as "the foreigner's quarter", located near to the slopes of Mount Pincio. It is a place with many art galleries and fashionable restaurants, where before the Renaissance there were only modest craftsmen workshops and stables. In the 1950s, after the film Roman Holiday it became an exclusive road, and a residence of many famous people, like film director Federico Fellini.

The apartment is located in a complex of great historical significance. The buildings where the apartment is located were erected by marquis Francesco Patrizi in 1858 with the purpose of hosting art studios. This location became so famous as to welcome artists and musicians from all over Europe such as Puccini, Verdi, Liszt, Wagner, Cocteau and Picasso. The complex was also the meeting point of the Italian Futurists and their intense late night debates. Boccioni, Marinetti, Severini and Depero were part of this group.
Upon entry in the pebble stone courtyard of this complex, you follow a tiny lane slightly uphill until you reach the back of the building. Here you arrive at the independent entrance of the apartment (it is not ground floor but you have direct access to this higher level from the ascending lane).
It is elegantly and tastefully furnished to maintain the bohemian spirit of the studio complex.
There is a charming living-room with a sofa and a table with two chairs. There is a door/window that lets in plenty of natural light. This room faces over a private terrace.
The bedroom has a queen size bed with a wooden secretaire.
There is no kitchen but you have all the necessary supplies for preparing a nice breakfast (boiler for coffee and tea, toaster, etc).
The bathroom is tiled with white ceramics and has a small bath-tub with hand-held shower.
