[ OR ] Vicolo Orbitelli

It is in the heart of the Roman historical center. Vicolo Orbitelli is a cross street off Via Giulia, the 16th century historic street connecting St. Peter’s Square of the Vatican to central Rome. It is located within a five minute walk to Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori and ten minute walk from the Pantheon, Castel Sant’Angelo and St. Peter’s.

This charming apartment is on the last (fourth) floor, without elevator, of a characteristic palazzo of the Via Giulia area.
Upon entrance there is a small foyer with a winding stair leading up to the terrace. To the right you have the living room, furnished with original vintage furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries. One wall includes an inbuilt wooden library. The living room also incorporates the dining area which is close to the kitchen, ingeniously communicating with the kitchen through an internal decorative window through which one can pass the warm dishes to the dinner table. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary cooking supplies and it bears the homely touch of the owner who leaves pasta and cookies in elegant glass jars for the guests to enjoy.
The living room opens up to a long balcony, full of flowers, ficus and lemon trees, where you can admire the dome of the Florentine’s Church which marks one end of Via Giulia.
The bed area opens up from the entry foyer and has a dressing antechamber with an inbuilt closet and an elegant mirror and small wooden cabinet that create the atmosphere of a renaissance aristocratic dresser.
The cosy bedroom has a queen size bed in front of a window, an ensuite bathroom with bathtub and a large mirror and is tiled with elegant white and blue ceramics.
The second bathroom has a shower and is tiled with white and orange ceramics.
As you walk up the winding stairs from the entry foyer you reach the marvelous terrace, one of a kind, that goes in a U shape all around the apartment. It is rich in vegetation of all kinds that tells of the owner’s passion with gardening. Lavander and ivy create the warm atmosphere the makes one feel almost in the countryside.
This large terrace has different areas: a dinner area with an elegant wrought-iron table and chairs, where you can admire the surrounding rooftops and the pine trees of Rome, another area with a chaise longue where one can lay in the sun and a third area with a dining table where you can admire the cupola of St. Peter’s in the distance.
